The National PTA Reflections Program is the PTA’s cornerstone arts program. It is a national arts recognition program that encourages students to explore their talents and express themselves.
Students submit their artwork to the West Lake Elementary PTA for initial judging. Local winners then advance to the Wake County Council round. Council winners advance to the state round. Top entries from the State PTA Reflections contest advance to National PTA for the final round of judging.
2016-2017 Theme: “What Is Your Story?”
Families can support their children’s participation by creating time and space for students to work on their entries, providing encouragement and needed materials and volunteering to support the Reflections Program. Watch the National PTA’s You Tube video “What is Your Story”
Entries should represent students’ unique creativity – adults are welcome to encourage students but are asked not to assist in any way with their interpretation of the theme or artistic expression.
